Green Moong Dal Dosa/Pesarattu

The other day, I was pretty confused abt to what to cook for dinner.. Then My dear friend Bhony (co-author of this blog) told me abt this recipe which she herself has tried many times n was cooking the same that day for dinner..

She has obtained the original recipe from arusuvai.com and then added her variation of adding rice!!!

Kudos to her…

Yuv enjoyed eating it as well Eash!!! Thanks Bhony! So Its basically her recipe n m posting it!!!

Moong Dal dosa /Pesarattu

I guess this recipe is more famously called Pesarattu.. With Bhony’z version of adding rice to it … some Pesarattu recipes have also stated to add rice flour/rice.. I served it with My very famous version of Paruppu (Dhal/Coconut) Chutney, Which I learned from my Mom… So here I Go.

Ingredients:

Rice : 1 cup

Green Moong Dhal : 1 cup

Cumin seeds : 2 spoons

Ginger : about one inch cut in to small pieces

Green Chillies : 4 -5

Onion : 1 fine chopped

Curry leaves : 10 -12, fine chopped

Salt to taste

Method:

  • Soak the Green Moong Dhal and rice together for 2 hours and grind together with green chillies and ginger and cumin seeds.
  • Add salt, finely chopped onions, curry leaves and spread on the pan like dosa.Cook covered and then turn on the other side for a while.
  • Serve hot with chutney..(Of your choice)
